"What a fantastic group of people! This was just my 3rd SPA event. It took me 6 months to make it to my first Welcome event and I confess that it was a bit awkward. But the 2nd was easier, and the 3rd was great. I'm sorry I waited so long to get involved. If you're a bit shy or reluctant to join in a new group, I'd encourage you to push through it and attend. The people in this organization are wonderfully warm and inviting -- both parents and kids have a great time."

Why Join SPA?
Because we are the largest Single Parents Group in the valley with many family friendly events each month that you and your kids will love! Some of our favorite/regular events include educational speakers, Peter Piper Pizza, the Phoenix Zoo, the Arizona Science Center, Castles and Coasters, Gameworks, museums, movies, picnics, live entertainment, game nights, dining out, house parties, pool parties, water parks, miniature golf, bowling, hiking, camping trips, clothing and book exchanges, parents night out and our monthly theme party/birthday celebration.
The Single Parents Association (SPA) has actually be around since 1994. SPA was formed to provide education, resources, friendship and camaraderie, as well as, FUN activities for single parents and their children. Our goal is simple, help single parents with their busy and sometimes stressful lives and help them to bring up healthier, happier children.
We Are A Membership Organization.
Unlike many other meetup groups we are a membership organization. We invite you to attend several events before deciding if our organization is for you. Please contact Kelly for information regarding upcoming events. Our yearly membership dues are $30 per family payable by October 1st. If you join anytime during the year the dues will be prorated at $2.50 per month. For example if you join in February your dues will be $20, Feb to Sep = 8 months times $2.50. Dues may be paid at an event by cash or check and given to Kelly, Sheryl or Connie. Checks should be made payable to the "Single Parents Association". A completed application must be submitted with your dues when joining. The applications can me found on our meetup site under "files". You may also mail your check and application to our PO Box at

What Do The Dues Pay For?
Some of the things the membership dues pay for are our educational speakers, insurance, the phone line, the post office box and printing and mailing of calendars for those who do not have internet access. Also membership dues pay for the hamburgers & hot dogs at picnics, bouncers at our house parties, prizes for the kids and much more. 
All Paying Members Are Welcome To Host Events.
Our Event Tickets
Since we are a non-profit organization we frequently receive complimentary tickets to many of the valleys entertainment events. While we invite prospective members to attend several events before deciding if our group is for you, our event tickets are for members and their children only. The host will provide a deadline for members to RSVP and if there are any extra tickets they will be offered to prospective members at that point. If we received 20 tickets or less to an event then we will have a lottery for members and their children. Over the last year we have gone to see the various Concerts, Phoenix sports teams, Disney on Ice, Broadway Palms Dinner Theater, Childsplay, Cirque de Soleil, Clay Aiken, Barney, Sesame Street, Barnum & Bailey Circus, the Jets and Funny Cars, Champions on Ice, the Globetrotters, the Lipazzaner Stallions and many more.
